I have never liked trouser suits. I think the reason behind my distaste is the fact that popular trouser suits for women are grey or black and ill-fitting. Just because they are worn to work, that doesn’t mean that they should be as buggy as track suits.

I know some of your jobs do not allow you to wear any other colors besides black and grey but you can pull this colors off during the weekend or at a formal event. As for the women with flexible dress codes, you should definitely add these colored suits to your wardrobe.

Colors like red, liliac, orange and white have become very popular suit colors. These suits work for the boardroom and beyond. It all depends on how you style them. The amazing thing about the bold colored suits, is that you can always style them differently, wear your white pants with the orange jacket or your red trouser with a blue jacket. You can always be creative with them. African print trouser suits are also a must have this season.

What blouse should you wear with colored trouser suits? You should pair the suit up with a very light, chiffon or cotton blouse because you do not want the suit to make you feel uncomfortable because of the heat.

Make sure the color of the blouse does not compete with the suit. What I would suggest is for you to keep it safe with a white blouse. Or for a more casual and boyish look, pair it up with a v neck t-shirt.

Shoes? Trouser suits can be worn with a closed, strappy heel for work. Or like Cookie Lyon, from the television series, Empire, wear your pant suit with a hat, for a more dramatic look.
