Damn! Some people can't help but catch tough breaks in life. But I guess that is why you get told to turn your lemons into lemonades.

Most of you probably already know the person in question but their life journey is still a mystery. So let me get right into it and why this might be the most inspiring story you have ever read -from me.

Renee is the personality of whom I speak. She recently shared her life's history and I paid attention -inspite of that very posh, polished, British accent.

"Hi, my name is Renee and I am a radio presenter and a life coach."

I rolled my eyes so far back I could see the monkey in my brain yank his tail.

"I need you to listen to what I have to say. I mean actually listen. Some people listen as they size you up, others listen with an attitude. I need you to really listen to me."

"You have my permission woman", thought I. Why? Well,

But I digress.

"I am a trained lawyer who studied in *insert name of British university here* and worked at one of the top 5 law firms in the world. I had it made. I mean, I was black, female and all I needed was a disability and I would have filled their quota.

To top it all, I was damn good! I could see myself making junior partner and partner in 6 years. But I always knew I wasn't cut out for it and my heart wasn't in my profession.

My wake up call was when I went to the doctor for a routine check and after having some tests done, they came back with a prognosis that was bleak...

I HAD A DE-GENERATIVE CONDITION AND ONLY HAD 3 YEARS LEFT TO LIVE!

At this point, she had my full attention. If a doctor and an expert in his field at that said something like this to me, I would be a complete wreck! Think about it, this is in effect a death sentence!

That was my wake up call. I quit my job and started doing what I love. I am now a radio presenter and a mother to some lovely children. Oh! That prognosis? That was 11 years ago!"

If that doesn't get your blood flowing, then perhaps you need to here her tell her own story. She is a life coach afterall and trust that she tells her tale rather beautifully.
