Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter and his nominated Jubilee counterpart Sonia Birdi were arraigned in a Naivasha court and just might lose their parliamentary seats if the court finds them guilty of criminal charges.

The two were charged with three criminal counts among them incitement. They however pleaded "not guilty" and were released on cash bail of 100,000 shillings each.

Naivasha Chief Magistrate Peter Gesora released Nandi Keter and on a cash bail of 100,000 shilling or a bond of 300,000 shillings each after pleading not guilty to three criminal charges. The charges stem from a January incident at Gilgill weighbridge in Nakuru County, the two incited Gorge Omboro Obiero in an attempt to make him flout the provision of the Kenya Roads act by releasing a truck without exemption permit.

They face a secondary count of intimidating said duty officer by invoking the name of the president and other senior government officials with the intention of causing the officer to release the impounded vehicle.
