Celebrating 12 years on being on Mother-in-law dramedy, Mustafa said he faced a lot of obstacles and it took patience and determination to overcome.

When I auditioned for this role , some said it was way beneath me, those that knew me well said I won't have the swahili to sustain it 😂😂😂. Others told me to go for it, and there are those that said it won't last a season. When I heard all these opinions, I knew that I'll get it, in all the negative and positive comments, they all spoke from a position of me having a successful audition," he wrote in part.

He continued,

I wasn't looking for fame or fortune, I just wanted a challenging role, one that I would enjoy and grow in, and would provide a modest consistent substinance. With great faith and a daily prayer, I delved into the unknown, Mustafa, my first role in swahili at the time.

A lot of tears and laughter, sweat and hard work , joy and frustrations, expectations and achievements, promises and betrayals, successes and failures have been experienced in that hat, lesso and blackened tooth. But you know what? it's been worth it.

This has been a 12 year journey so far (42 Seasons, 458 episodes) , and I still do the same thing everyday, step out in faith and a daily prayer.
