William Ngene Njuguna, a handcart pusher who sneaked into State House, Nairobi, a few weeks ago was found dead at Uhuru Park last week.

Police officers who found the body used fingerprints to identify the victim as 29-year-old William Ngene.

Mutuini chief George Mukuria told the Nation that Ngene hailed from the area. The officers located and informed his family with the help of an MCA.

Police took Ngene's body to City Mortuary and have launched investigations. But Nairobi Police Commander Japheth Koome told The Star on phone on Wednesday that he was not aware of the incident.

Ngene provoked laughter in court with his explanation for sneaking into State House, before Nairobi chief magistrate Daniel Ogemba.

“Your honour, I have never been to State House. I only see it on pictures and TV. I have seen all beautiful buildings in the city... I was curious," he said.

The court heard that the accused left his mkokoteni (handcart) at Uhuru Park, passed through Central Park and headed to the heavily guarded location.
