It might be hell for Maina Kamanda yet again since flamboyant politician Mike Sonko has now officially endorsed his singer friend Jaguar. The Nairobi Senator has made a move that could hurt Maina's political ambitions. This is because Jaguar is a well known public figure eyeing the Starehe seat in the 2017 elections.

Starehe Constituency is home to the CBD and the Parliament, a very prime area to build on a political career. Maina Kamanda first became the MP for Starehe back in 2002 but was overthrown by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru in the 2007 elections. He is one of the core guys behind PNU and was a close ally ot former President Mwai Kibaki.

When Wanjiru decided to run for the Nairobi governor seat in 2013, Maina overtook her.

Another major potential contestant for the seat in the next general elections is politician James Wanjohi.
