You've by now listened to President Uhuru's articulate speeches. Writing a presidential speech is kind of complicated. It's something that goes beyond having literally talent. This is one thing that Eric Ng'eno has. He was a researcher for the Deputy President before being made the speech writer for both leaders. Eric is an accomplished lawyer.

He recently spoke to The Nairobian about the process he goes through to come up with such moving speeches.

“The president has a very clear idea of what he wants to say at any given time. His guidance is paramount. He is a statesman, pan-African, dynamic modern leader. He loves results and has made a habit of delivering successfully. He wants his speeches to capture his words, wishes and energy as much as possible,” he said.

President Uhuru is known to be a result-driven guy. He has from time to time insisted on sacking public servants who aren't keen on delivery.

Eric studied at the Kenya School of Law and has previously worked with the Kenya Sugar board.
