Kenya has it's own version of the notorious lover gang known as Bonnie and Clyde.

The folk lore behind them stems from real couple, Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow American criminals who traveled the central United States with their gang during the Great Depression, robbing people and killing when cornered or confronted.

Jay Z and Beyonce sung about them.

Back in Kenya, a man and his girlfriend have been charged in a Nakuru court with having illegal guns and 25 counts of robbery with violence.

Harun Ndirangu, 42, and Lucy Wamboi, 27, were accused of illegally having an AK47, Ceska pistol and bullets at Kiamaina on the Nyahururu-Nakuru highway on October 3.

Ndirangu faced 25 counts of robbery with violence, robbing business people of more than Sh 3 million and belongings between May 20 and October 3.

He also faced charges of robbing Livingstone Mbugua, a licensed gun holder, of his Ceska pistol at gunpoint at Posho Mill on May 20.

During the robbery, Ndirangu allegedly shot and killed a security guard, Walter Mungare, at Vision Mart Supermarket.

Wamboi was accused of conspiring with Ndirangu, whom she knew had guns and was involved in robberies but did not report.

Police believe the two are the ones terrorising the public in Nakuru county and its environs.

Chief magistrate Josephat Burudi released them on Sh 1 million bond.
