Joan Wamaitha stole the show at JKIA on Friday when US President Barack Obama arrived. The 8-year-old girl is the one who gave Obama a bouquet of flowers when he landed in Kenya.

No one saw it coming. We all expected to see a child of one of the popular personalities give Obama flowers as it has always been the norm. Joan Wamaitha was the lucky girl this time round. She left everyone wagging tongues.

Joan Wamaitha is a pupil at Mariakani Primary School in South B, Nairobi County. The little girl who is said to be an orphan, is one of the many children taken care of at the Mama Ngina Children's home in South C.
