It's the era dubbed Africa Rising. There is an emergence of tech start up, industry leaders and futurists. We are seeing more Africans take over the global success realm. This is what happened when Awa Sanoko from Ghana made history in China on 31st October.

The 20-year-old was crowned the winner of the 27th edition of Miss Model World. This is especially a big achievement for the West African nation since Elite Model Search, a top international pageant, has seen Ivory Coast lose on several occasions. No non-white model has won the contest.

Ivory Coast has been disappointed endless times after supporting their very own in the pageant. Geremaya did not make it to top 15 in last year's edition of the contest.
