A heavily pregnant Ruth Matete paid tribute to her husband, Beloved John Apewajoye at the funeral service held today at Langata Cemetery.

The former Tusker Project fame winner revealed that her husband Beloved John had already chosen names for their unborn child.

Partly in her tribute Ruth said,

‘SOMETIMES I FEEL YOU KNEW YOUR TIME HAD COME BECAUSE OF HOW YOU HAD PUT THINGS IN ORDER LIKE NAMING THE BABY, WE AGREED TO CALL HIM JOSHUA TOLUWA APEWAJOYE IF ITS A BOY AND JOANNA TOLUWA APEWAJOYE IF ITS A GIRL.

Adding,

‘IT IS A BOY SO HE IS JOSHUA. I’LL TELL TOLUWA OF HOW KIND YOU WERE PASTOR BELOVED AND WHAT A TRUE MAN OF GOD YOU WERE. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:8. CONTINUE BEING WITH THE LORD MY DARLING HUSBAND.

Incase you were wondering below are the meaning of the names Beloved John chose for their unborn child.

Joanna- God is gracious

Joshua- God is my salvation

Toluwa- Belonging to God

Apewajoye-A person who has the potential to attain spiritual enlightenment!

The burial took longer than expected after the Nigerian Embassy stopped Ruth Matete from burying her husband.

This saw a push and pull that took months forcing Beloved John's family to intervene allowing Ruth to bury their son.

But not even that would make the Embassy be empathetic. Finally, she has laid her husband to rest and we hope she can rest now.

May he continue resting in peace.
