In a bid to celebrate Chelsea FC’s English Premier League title triumph, an Accra based, Living Streams International church decided to hold a special thanksgiving service.

Pastor Azigiza, the church’s overseer who is a staunch Chelsea fan, was the man behind the whole idea. He asked the members of the congregation to show up donned in colors of the football teams they support.

Speaking to BBC, Mr. Azigiza who led the congregation in a verse of the Chelsea anthem ‘blue is the colour’, revealed that his intents were to use the power of football in teaching the word of God better.

The site reports that pastor Azigiza who was once a radio DJ, did this to tease his boss Pastor Ebenezer Markwei, a die-hard Arsenal fan.

Pastor Markwei’s sermon was all about living in harmony and diffusing rivalries between fans of different football clubs.

The sermon came during the weekend exactly a week after Chelsea lost to Arsenal in the FA Cup finals and that did not break the pastor’s heart. He was instead glad that it only meant bad news for Arsenal and good news for the Blues.
