Mathare Iko Half Term Kweli! Watch These Death Defying Stunts Done By Umoja Matatu Makangas

Whenever I tell people I do not like using public transportation, it is partly due to the fact that i do not get along well with others but mainly due to the fact that I loathe boom twaffs. I believe some people call them nganyas.

In my experience, boom twaffs are often a loud, inconvenient den for pickpockets and sexual predators who harass lasses. Or maybe I am just growing old because the youngins on my team love these loud matatus.

They claim that they are an integral part of youth culture in Kenya -almost as if they are insinuating that at 27yrs of age I am already an old soul.

I showed them all a video that best exemplifies why I cringe at the thought of having to use a boom twaff and they told me that it was precisely for that reason that they enjoy them -there's never a dull moment.

Take a look at the video below and let me know what you think. The video is of a pair of matatu crews that ply the Umoja route who have decided to entertain their captives (I mean passengers) to some thrilling dare devil shenanigans.

I doubt Kitengela matatus (or Rongai matatus for that matter) do such things given the distance... You will catch a muscle pull or worse, a stitch!
