He’s one of the richest men on the planet with an estimated worth of $33.3 billion. You may thus expect him to drive top range cars like Jay Leno and wear the latest designer apparel. Well, you’re wrong. Mark wears the same color t-shirt and to make matters even worse (well, for that matter) he drives a Tesla which is worth about Ksh. 2.75 million as opposed to a Ksh. 199 million Bugatti Veyron. Every person takes a step towards achieving that glamorous look – by shopping at T-Mall, Jumia, Deacons, Mr. Price, Ngara or any other place that suits them best but for him it's the least of his priorities.

I’m sure if it were you, things would be totally different. I mean, who doesn’t want to look good when the money is there. Well, for him, there seems to be a rather ‘silly’ but reasonable excuse. During a November Q&A in California, he addressed this issue of wearing the same T-shirt.

"I really want to clear my life so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community.” he said, "I'm in this really lucky position where I get to wake up every day and help serve more than 1bn people, and I feel like I'm not doing my job if I spend any of my energy on things that are silly or frivolous about my life, so that way I can dedicate all of my energy towards just building the best products and services."
