A section of Kenyans have expressed their displeasure after some photos surfaced on social media showing a woman washing 'matumbo' with detergents before cooking it.

While some supported the move saying it should be washed thoroughly since 'matumbo' is "very dirty", others were vexed saying she should have just rinsed it well using water.

Anyone who loves 'matumbo' as yours truly will tell you that a good percentage of nutrients are lost while trying to kill germs using cleaning agents. But then again, what do I know?
