Jacque Maribe and Joe Irungu were back in court on Thursday. The two were there for the mentioning of their murder case.
The Office of the DPP said it will not release Citizen TV Jacque Maribe’s car yet as it forms part of the murder trial.
In an affidavit filed in court, the investigating officer Maxwell Otieno says the car and Jacque’s mobile phone handset will be relied on during the prosecution’s case.
Since they will be produced as exhibits, the court is not seized with jurisdiction to order for its disposal. The judge directed both parties to appear in court on March 13 to deal with the affidavits they had written.
The two seemed cut forlorn figures with Jacque wearing a red dress and Joe in a black suit and white shirt. Joe looks to have visibly improved health-wise with his left arm no longer in a sling.
Jacque was in a pensive mood, while Joe looked to be in a contemplative state of mind. Jacque and Jowie are the prime suspects in the murder of Kenyan businesswoman Monica Kimani. The murder occurred on September 21, 2018 at Monica’s Lamuria court apartments.
Jacque has been out on bail the last few months while Jowie’s own application was denied by Justice James Wakiaga who called him a “slay king”.
Si pesa peke! What Jacque Maribe stands to lose now that she is being charged with Monica Kimani’s murder
The first time Jowie and Maribe met was in mid-2017 at a Jubilee Party function at Bomas of Kenya. She later saw him at Kasarani where there was also a Jubilee Party function.
They got engaged in an event that they shared heavily on social media.
