A Molo man on Monday night stabbed his wife to death and committed suicide at Tayari estate in the outskirts of Molo town.

The 25-year-old woman was found in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds on the chest, neck, and stomach.
The husband allegedly stabbed the wife, who is a primary school teacher before hanging himself inside the room he had locked from inside.
Residents said the two were engaged in a heated argument before the woman was heard screaming. Paul Itume, a neighbor said efforts to rescue the woman turned futile since the man had locked the house from inside.
He said neighbors managed to break into the house but they were shocked to find the man’s body hanging from the ceiling while that of the woman was in a pool of blood.
“I don’t know exactly what happened but we thought it’s the normal domestic squabble mostly experienced among youthful people. As residents, we are shaken by the unfortunate turn of events he said.
The woman is a teacher at a private school in Molo while the man is a bodaboda operator who residents described as quiet.
According to a suicide note seen by police, the deceased had accused the woman of having an affair with another man.
A former councilor Charles Njenga Matendo urged youths to seek counseling and also shun drugs. He said escalation of criminal incidents in Molo was being motivated by drug abuse and desperation amongst youths.
Police in Molo has taken their bodies to Molo subcounty hospital mortuary. This comes a day after a woman aged 27 from Molo committed suicide over family squabbles with his husband.
