Cursed generation! Man fined Sh 5,000 for hurling insults at mother

A Makueni court on Thursday fined a man Sh 5,000 or in default serve three months in prison for hurling vulgar insults at his mother.

Pius Mwangangi appearing before senior resident magistrate George Sagero admitted to using abusive words towards his mother Monica Mwangangi on February 6, at their home in Kiuani village, Kathonzweni Sub County.

The prosecution told the court that the accused insulted his mother after she failed to tell him who had fenced off his piece of land the previous day.

Mwangangi is said to have woken up on the material day and headed to his mother’s kitchen at around 8am and demanded to know the person who had put a temporary fence on his land.

In mitigation, the accused regretted his actions and asked for forgiveness.

In the same court two men James Mwendwa and Stephen Ochieng denied charges of attempting to commit a felony and were each released on a bond of Sh100, 000 or a surety of the same amount.

The two were arrested on February 3, at Wote town while in possession of crude metallic equipment and were suspected to be preparing to break into a car.

The case will be mentioned don February 17 while the hearing will begin on March 3.
