After arresting celebrities rumored to be drug barons, Magufuli is set to discipline misbehaving artistes.

Popular Tanzanian rapper Ney wa Mitego, has been arrested for releasing a song deemed insulting to the government.The song, Wapo, which has not made it to the radio airwaves yet, emerged last week and was widely shared on social media.

Part of it asks:

"Hivi uhuru wa kuongea kwenye nchi bado upo? Nisije nikaongea vitu kesho nikajikuta central...."

The rapper continues in what is seen as unleashing what Tanzanian politicians have been upto;

"Siasa inafunika muziki...viongozi wanashindana kukiki...wanagombea front page wauzwe kwenye gazeti.Naskia kuna viongozi wame-fodge vyeti...Kuna viongozi wavuta bangi"

It makes reference to a doctor who lances boils but cannot tolerate criticism. President John Magufuli has often spoken of "lancing boils" in reference to his no-nonsense approach to governing.

"Daktari haogopi kuugua kidonda.wewe si ni dokta wa majibu? Kuvamia ofisi za watu kumbe ni kazi...."

According to The Star, the police told a local newspaper:

"Ney wa Mitego will be questioned for releasing a song with words that insult the government........"

The rapper is popular for his scathing lyrics attacking not only the government but even his fellow artists. Mid last year, the rapper released yet another  song that seemed to be insulting Tanzanian celebrities including Wema Sepetu, Shetta and Ommy Dimpoz.

Well, this rapper seems to have reached President Magufuli "in the throat"; he finishes by saying;

"we Mtu gani sasa...hutaki kushauriwa, hutaki kukosolewa umerogwa wewe unajiona ndugu yake na yesu"
