Scrutinize church denominations before you join any of them as a member, a cleric told mourners during the burial of lawyer Paul Magu and his entire nuclear family. The couple and their three children died in odd circumstances late November. Reverend James Kamura of Anglican church termed the deaths a bizzarre and called on the government to hunt down rogue preachers.

"It is high time something needs to be done. I am saying this with a lot of bitterness."Kamura told hundreds of mourners in Kiganjo village ,Juja subcounty where the 35 year old lawyer, his wife lydia Wangui also 35 and their three children were buried in a mass grave. Magu is suspected to have committed suicide on Thika -Garissa highway on November 23 the same day hours after Wangui's mutilated body was recovered near Paradise Lost park off Kiambu road. A week later the bodies of their children Allen Muhia, Ryan Ndau and Tiffany Wambui were recovered at the proposed Tatu City site. The children's bodies are suspected to have been sprayed with a corrosive chemical.

According to The Star, The burial ceremony was brief and no photos of family members and relatives were taken as it is the practice in burials. There were no speeches from them either. Locals srarted walking out of the burial ceremony minutes after the bodies were taken to the grave side despite assurance there was food for the hundreds of mourners. The slain couple met at Kenya Shell Ltd where they were employed. They married in a Catholic church in 2005. Magu, a former Alliance High student graduated with a law degree from University of Nairobi in 2000 while Wangui graduated from Kenyatta University in 2002. Magu quit his job at Shell in 2008 and he ventured in real estate with his wife.

In a twist of events locals who sought anonymity said Magu's mother was a member of ACK church before she quit to join "Maranatha" which she later quit and joined "Bethel Church" and later walked out after she allegedly diasgreed with Magu's pastor Anne Wanyoro who is in custody. Our sources could not specify the time when Magu's mother Kezia Wambui used to fellowship with Wanyoro. It was impossible to get comments from Wambui who was mourning yesterday. It is not clear why local politicians avoided the ceremony with only Kiambu governor William Kabogo sending his Chief of staff Sammy Onyango to pass his condolences. Area MCA attended while energy PS Joseph Njoroge who was present avoided the media. He did not address mourners.
