Threatening Whatsapp messages have leaked exposing a plan by cab drivers to use force if need be on other Uber drivers working during the demonstration.

A series of leaked Whatsapp messages show how they are planning to "deal" with them using various scare tactics. Kenya iko na mafia kali. Tena sana.

The Uber drivers have planned a demo set for Thursday at Uhuru Park from 9am.

Here is a broadcast message sent to all drivers.

"For those asking the way forward after Thursday /Friday demonstration this will be the way forward. We will be collecting files from you members in order to file a constitutional petition for interpretation pertaining to the validity of being subjected to the laws of Netherlands in case of any litigation between us and UBER. We also intend to file another case at the Labour and Employment court for the definition of what constitutes as a partner and settling of labour matters locally. The same will also be claiming damages for losses incurred during our operations on the platform. Please do not be left out of this initiative. It may change your lives for the better going forward. The second strategy will be blockade. All the enjoined persons will split into groups who will be visiting mirage towers on a daily basis until fare is increased. It works like this. Today the group that visit the office will be online the following day and another group takes over. It would be desirable to have groups of about 500 people. Because we are visiting our employer's offices no permits will be required. Once fares are increased we immediately go back to work."

The organizers sent out a stern warning to "traitors".

"...this demo comprises of digital onliners, karuras and even Boda bodas so take care whoever will think of taking advantage, all hitmen will be allover monitoring the whole areas that is from kiambu, kajiado, rongai, Ngong town, Karen, Kikuyu, Ruaka etc...please be with us or be at home."

The threatening message added,

"There is a squad from private taxi aka Karura who will drive around making sure no one is online."

Here is another one of their well laid plans to ensure every Uber driver complies and doesn't work.

"Kitengela there will be a team near the dhuthis stage at Normad hotel. Don't dare Gateway mall coz the worst team will be waiting for the traitors both the service lanes and the highway. Airport team will be patrolling every terminal and the parking lots. Dare airport, the white pick-up belonging to KAA will be on your neck.they will also be going round trying to identify those online cabs with private insurance and impound them to the airport police station.so if you thought you will hide yourself in airport, with all due respect don't. Also the yellow cab heads will be going through scrutinizing whether there is a hiding mole and call the campers.so airport at your own risk."
