The King of Rhumba Papa Wemba was finally laid to rest on Wednesday in a cemetery on the eastern outskirts of Kinshasa where the cheapest tomb costs $1,500. Thousands of fans turned out to bid a final farewell to the Congolese singer. Unlike the usual funeral ceremonies where mourners "stay calm" and mourn the death of a loved one, Papa Wemba's was historical. People took many selfies posing next to his white and gold casket before he was buried.
Papa Wemba, a great icon passed away on stage in Abidjan, Ivory Coast while performing. He was a great person and passionate African musician.
