Residents of Riamakanda village in Kisii County were treated to a rare spectacle after a man who was believed to be dead returned home looking as fit as a fiddle.

Vincent Oyugi reportedly got involved in an accident in Ewaso Nyiro in Narok after the pick up he was traveling in alongside his three workmates veered off the road before crashing.

His mother - Eunice Moraa - traveled to Narok to identify his body after informing the village elders of what had happened.

Upon arriving at the morgue she picked a body she thought belonged to her son and went back home. He was later laid to rest on Sunday, December 4, 2016.

Exactly a month down the line on Wednesday, January 4, Vincent made his way back home leaving neighbors shocked like they had seen a ghost.

His mother, who was at the farm at the time, broke down in tears when she received news that her son had returned home.

She told journalists that she had to go through his birthmarks to ascertain whether he's her son.

Vincent said that although he boarded the ill-fated pick-up, he jumped out shortly before it rolled.

His family will have slaughter a white cock or goat which will then be eaten. Its innards will be put into the grave after the body that was buried there is exhumed.
