Lulu Hassan and Rashid Abdalla are the golden couple on T.V. The two have been working together on Citizen T.V since last year when the station re-launched its news bulletin.
The couple who co-host together are doing something that many people who are married wouldn’t ever dream of doing (much less on screen); working together.
The two have worked seamlessly even when Lulu took some time off for maternity leave to take care of her 3rd child.
The two have reunited and she recently spoke about the fears that she had as concerns working together with your spouse. According to NairobiNews, she said:
We have not had a major challenge but what our fear is that now because we have a baby, there might be a time she will not be feeling well, God forbid, and we will have to choose who will be responsible for the baby and who will be working.
This fear is understandable as the two are on-air together, especially with a child that was born in September 2018.
The two had previously worked together at Radio Salaam in Mombasa, several years ago at the start of their careers.
This phenomenon of a couple working together on screen might be unique in Kenya but happens a lot abroad.
A popular show in America called Morning Joe, features the host Joe Scarborough and his co-host Mika Brzezinski. The two have been seeing each other for a couple of years, with Joe proposing in 2017.
