A mother of three who suffers from anxiety has spoken about her remarkable decision to give birth on live on Instagram as a way to heal her mental health.

Jessica is currently 28 weeks pregnant and she is expecting her fourth child in just under three months.

It's a precious moment, one the blogger says wants to share with her 21,000 social media followers - but not because she's after fame and recognition.

Instead, it's her unique way for her to overcome extreme levels of anxiety.

She said:

'I made this decision for myself. It's more to benefit my mental health,' .

'I will forever have this to look back on and remember that time I came out of my shell and was no longer afraid.'

'I used to be a very social person and had many friends before I was struck down with anxiety and depression.

'Then I became a hermit and isolated myself from everyone and let my issues take over my life.'

'I'm at a point where I don't want to live like that anymore.'

Her Instagram account, one she started four months ago, has been her way of breaking her isolation and also shedding the light on this mental health problem.

The mother-of-three (her children are aged five, three and a year-and-a-half) said she first started suffering from anxiety after the birth of her daughter Lily in 2013 and with each child, the condition became progressively worse.

'It started affecting my family and friends who I eventually pushed away for a period of time,' she said.

While she admits to an on-off relationship with medication she hopes there will come a time when this is no longer part of her life.

'I know I won't be cured or "better" overnight by my main is to be able to deal with my issues without the need for medication.'

With her due date less than 12 weeks away, Ms Hood outlined what her followers can expect to see when she live streams the birth of her child.

'Basically, there will be a lot of filming prior to myself going into labour,' she said.

'I also want to show first time mums what labour is about and what happens during pregnancy,'

'Basically, if I can do it, they can do it too.'

She said she wants to show them everything that 'takes place in the last few weeks' leading up to her baby being born.

'Then I will be filming contractions, going to the hospital, filming inside the hospital and right up until the moment I'm about to push.'

However, she said she won't be filming herself as she goes into the later stages of labour.

'I'm hoping to film the moment he arrives and is placed on my chest.'

While her approach to overcoming this difficult condition is unconventional, Ms Hood said she has the full support of her family.

'They know that this is going to help me and many other people suffering from this terrible illness,' she said.

The expectant mum also revealed she has the full backing of her online community who often send her appreciative messages for her 'raw and real' take on life.

'This is extremely motivating for me and seeing that it's possible to reach people on a different level has been really amazing,' she said.

'I can also see that what I post helps with their confidence and their mental health issues too.

'I have had so many people open up to me which I find really special,' she concluded.
