Dennis 'the menace' Oliech as he is popularly known has rubbished claims that he is broke and has not paid a land agent his commission. He says he has lots of houses in Kenya and Europe but the latest allegations are raising eyebrows.

The once upon a time Harambee Stars skipper has sank under a mountain of debt. He is the only Kenyan player who left many defenders and goalies trembling whenever he took the ball but all that has been forgotten. At one time Oliech was offered millions to change citizenship to Qatari but he snubbed the offer and went to Europe where he barely lasted 10 years playing football.

Oliech came back home after his Ajacio Club was relegated and since then, he has never played again hence forcing him to hang the boots. Ever since, the Former Harambee Stars player has been keeping a low profile. However, of late rumour has it that, he is not doing so well financially despite the fact that he landed a multi million deal with a local betting company. Oliech is once again in the news for negative reasons. Oliech is being accused by a friend; Daniel Wanjohi popularly known as Tyson for failing to settle a debt.

According to Wanjohi, he met Oliech back in 1999 when he was still a player at Mathare United. By then Wanjohi says he was a tout who later upgraded to a matatu driver and all this time, he used to give 'the Menace' lifts to town but they later lost contact. They met again, recently, after 15 years. Wanjohi who is now a real estate agent, says Dennis called him a few weeks back asking him to help him sell his land worth Sh 12.5 million (believed to be him last investment). As a friend, he did all he could and got someone to buy the property and they agreed that he would pay him 3% consultation fee out of the total sales amount.

"After 15 years, Denno called me and told me that he wanted us to meet. I was in Dagoretti Corner and luckily he was around and we met. He asked me to help him get a client to buy his property in Ngong and that he would give me a fee of 3% from the total amount sold. I did my level best and sold it but..."

After the deal was done, Oliech paid Wanjohi Sh 140,000 the first payment was done on June 10, 2016 and the second one on June 11, 2016. Since then, Dennis Oliech has gone underground and doesn't pick Wanjohi's calls anymore yet he still owes him the reminder of Sh 225,000.

"I have tried calling him but he no longer picks my calls nor answer any of my texts. I remember when he was still looking for someone to buy the plot, he used to invite me to his house in Kileleshwa and he used to refer to me as 'Mheshimiwa'. Even the soldiers at his gate used to call me that. I was a darling to him during that time but after I accomplished his mission, I'm like a devil to him. He doesn't want to see me. Every time I go to his place the watchman always locks me out and denies me entry. I'm tired and all I want is the money he owes me. Nothing much".

The angry man has threatened to report the matter to the police if Oliech doesn't pay him what he owes. My friends who we were working with on this deal (selling the land) think I was given the money and I refused to share. Please just pay me my money," Wanjohi pleaded.

On the other hand, when called for comment, Oliech denied having knowledge of the sale of any piece of land, infact, the former footballer he said he "doesn't know anyone by that name". He further claimed that he has "a lot of houses and investments both in Kenya and France" so don't for one minute, think he is broke!
