Divers have located three cars including the one that plunged with Mariam Kigenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu at Likoni Ferry Channel

The object, seen around 2pm on Tueday, is believed to be the ill-fated Toyota ISIS that plunged into the Likoni crossing channel some ten days ago, government spokesperson Col (Rtd) Cyrus Oguna said.

Speaking to the press at the Likoni crossing channel, Oguna said the operation to recover the body is now at 90 per cent complete.

“What is remaning is about 10 per cent. We need to confirm the number plate of that vehicle to ascertain if indeed it is the one that sunk into the channel on September 29,” said Oguna.

Family spokesperson Luka Mbati, however said they will not comment until they see the bodies.

"Yes we do have hope, but we won't talk until we see the bodies," Mbati said.
