Failed Plan: Woman's Marriage to Mzungu Ends in Heartbreak

• Ann admitted that her motivations were selfish, driven by her desperation for money to support her alcohol addiction.

A woman on the Lynn Ngugi Show shared her heartbreaking story of losing the chance to inherit property from her late Mzungu husband due to a legal technicality.

Ann Mathu opened up about her struggle with alcoholism and how she rebuilt her life. She met her husband by chance in a bar in Germany.

"I saw him and thought of money," she confessed. "There was an old mzungu in that bar, and I started asking around about him because I knew he wouldn't live much longer. I would sit next to him, and he would ask a lot of questions about Kenya."

After learning that he had no siblings or parents, Ann thought she had found an easy path to wealth. "I knew there wouldn't be any issues with inheritance," she added.

As they spent more time together, her plan seemed to be falling into place. "One day, he told me, 'Anna, I would like to marry you. I fell in love with you a long time ago but didn't know how to tell you. Will you marry me?' I said yes," she recalled.

Ann admitted that her motivations were selfish, driven by her desperation for money to support her alcohol addiction.

"I was looking at the money and thinking he didn’t have long to live," she said. At the time, he was in his 70s, and she was 39.

When he began coughing severely, Ann's brother advised her to marry him quickly, sensing that he might pass away soon.

They bribed officials at the Attorney General's office to expedite the marriage. "An elderly man is very insecure and possessive because you're still young and beautiful," she noted.

The couple had planned to adopt her children so she could travel with them to Germany. However, before the process could begin, her husband passed away. "He was found sitting in his house with a bottle of vodka," she shared.

When Ann's friend informed the lawyer about his death, the lawyer denied any knowledge of Ann, stating that the German government did not recognize her as his wife.

"We cried for three days. How do you import a man, marry him so he can die and leave you all that property, only for him to die without writing anything? It was incredibly frustrating," she said.

Reflecting on her experience, Ann believes there was a greater purpose at play. "God wanted to use me in a way, so He had to remove him, and then I had to hit rock bottom for God to turn things around," she concluded.
