Bidanya Barasa, a model who describes herself as a Cancer Victorious, a juicing enthusiast, and a boss babe, has been battling stage 2 colon cancer.

In an interview with Citizen TV on August 31, she shared her journey since 2009.

“I had frequent stomach aches, and eating would make me very uncomfortable,” Bidanya recalled. Despite using over-the-counter medications, the pain persisted.

Her concerns escalated when she noticed blood in her stool. She called her mother to tell her she had colon cancer, although she was unsure why she said it.

Bidanya underwent several tests. While the endoscopy was fine, the colonoscopy led to alarming news. “The nurse told me I needed to see the doctor. I was scared. The good news was I didn’t have stomach cancer, but I did have colon cancer. That’s when it really hit me. I was shocked because I had already guessed it was colon cancer,” she said.

A biopsy followed, and she cried as she researched the condition online. “Seeing my mom made us both cry together,” she added.

Despite her diagnosis, Bidanya remains a fitness and juicing enthusiast. She underwent surgery, which was successful, and learned that she was indeed dealing with stage 2 cancer. Her recovery process included chemotherapy, which she approached with faith and resilience.

“I didn’t realize how strong I was until I faced colon cancer,” Bidanya reflected, embracing her battle and the scars it brought.
