Shaka, a Kenyan law student, has opened up about her great and unique relationship with her father.

The undergrad has divulged her father's interesting take on how to parent by giving the rare story of how he used to clubbing, and she enjoyed the experience with him.

During a podcast with Jagero, Shaka stated, "I appreciate that he introduced alcohol to me… I don't see alcohol as a big deal."

She first saw her dad drinking after he separated from her mom, which she interpreted as a way for him to relax.

She believed that this type of exposure was something parents should provide for their children to prevent future challenges when they have more freedom at university.

She went on to mention that she started drinking at the age of 19, which is one year above the legal drinking age for adults.

The university student explained that many students on campus are introduced to new experiences and people, which can sometimes lead to substance abuse and damage to their reputation.

"It was important for my dad that we drink with him and be able to sit down together and share a drink."

This approach made her view alcohol in a less glorified way and reduced her urge to attend the typical weekend parties at most universities.

Her father taught her how to drink responsibly, stressing the importance of always having food first—a lesson she found valuable.

He took this step to create a safe space for his daughters, knowing they were drinking behind his back.

Shaka stated that parenting comes in different forms, and it didn't stop when a child became an adult.

She believed parents should continue giving life advice and guidance, helping their children take care of themselves.

By doing so, parents can feel more at ease when their children attend events, knowing they can handle themselves responsibly.
