Birdman sparked excitement among Kenyans when photos surfaced of him at a Safaricom shop, leading many to believe he had signed a brand deal with the telecom giant.

However, Safaricom has since debunked these rumours after being tagged in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

In the images, Birdman was seen seated at a desk with a Safaricom employee, with papers and two phones in front of him, creating the impression that he had secured a significant deal.

The video was initially shared on TikTok by user Martha Kimondo, prompting Kenyans to congratulate Birdman on what they thought was a major achievement.

A few days later, the mobile service provider clarified the situation. In response to X user Rodgers Kipembe Mpuru, who commented,

"Birdman pens an advertising gig with Safaricom," the company replied, "Hi @RodgersKipembe. Wacha jokes, he was at the Safaricom Shop to replace his line, not to sign an advertisement contract."

Birdman recently appeared in an interview with Citizen TV Kenya, where he opened up about his struggles living on the streets and impressed viewers with his academic qualifications.
