A man named Marongo, who towers over others at 8 feet tall, has captured the attention of Kenyans online due to his extraordinary height.
At 27 years old, Marongo refers to himself as the tallest Gen Z in Kenya, as he shared in an interview with Kenya Online Media on YouTube.
Despite the challenges his height presents, including being a spectacle during anti-government protests where police were seen talking to him in amazement, Marongo has become a familiar figure.
Known as "Goliath Gen Z," Marongo is well-known in Kangemi, where he often hangs out and hustles, having previously lived in Kayole.
He weighs 135 kilograms and has a popular TikTok account with 15,000 followers, who are constantly fascinated by his height and large feet. His social media bio reads "BRADLEY Tallest in 254."
However, Marongo doesn't appreciate the mocking that sometimes accompanies his height. "Children look at me in amazement, some take pictures, but I take the phones and delete the pictures because some people talk badly about me," he shared, describing the negative comments as "anaongea matope" (speaking nonsense).
It's reported that Marongo wears a shoe size 47/48. Fans are curious about his lifestyle, including how his barber manages to give him a fade haircut.
His bed is custom-made, yet he still can't fully stretch out. He prefers wearing baggy shirts and shorts, as finding trousers in his size is challenging.
When it comes to shoes, he often finds them in second-hand markets, though going to the market can be uncomfortable due to the stares he attracts.
