The wonderful spirit of Kenyans came to light Tuesday, Jan 23 for a woman and her three children, who have been living in a home without a roof.
She lives in a place called Ndaaniya Mathare Mabatini and is a widow named Florence Odhiambo. Her rent is sh2k.
According to details, the landlord removed the roof over a six-month unpaid rent arrears.
Her plight moved Kenyans who called on Eric Omondi to find her and get a number to raise funds to offset the arrears and do more for her children.
The mother's situation was first highlighted on Tiktoker Priscilla Wa Imani's page. Priscilla gained fame in 2022 for her whistling.
"Alitolewa mabati kwasababu hajalipa rent. na akaachwa hivo. So when I entered the house I got so shocked. One elder in this area called me to inform me of her situation. Just look at this house. This is a child who has slept here, sometimes they go to sleep hungry."
Priscilla and friends bought the family some chapatis as she recorded a video of the squalid conditions the three children were in.
"Kwasababu mama nimepata ana chemsha skari na maji watoto wake wakunywe ikae hivo, Kenyans," Priscilla further informed Kenyans.
Priscilla showed a sachet of sh10bob that the mother could only afford. "Akichemsha hivo hata bila majani chai watot wake wataridhika na wasikie vizuri."
