Former US First family Barack and Michelle Obama are mourning the tragic loss of their family chef Tafari Campbell.

The two shared photos of them hanging out with Campbell as they went on to eulogize the amazing human being that Tafari had been.

On his Instagram page, the former president shared two photos of him and his wife alongside the late chef with nothing but kind words for Tafari. The Emmy award-winning narrator expressed he felt an emptiness within as he worded how terribly he'd miss Tafari.

Captioning the post the father of two wrote,

“Tafari Campbell showed us what true character looks like. He believed that actions speak louder than words.

And he used his immense gifts to bring people together, provide comfort, and spread joy. I’ll miss him every day,”

Michelle on her part also shared a photo of her and her husband alongside their chef as well as one photo of Campbell smiling brightly while holding a basket with artistic meals.

She went on to mourn their former employee highlighting that Tafari was a friend to her and her family

"I will miss my friend, Tafari... the emptiness is hard. But I promise to stay strong, keep living, and honor your legacy in every way possible. Rest in peace, my brother,” her emotional post read.

The late first family's personal chef died during an accident on a paddle boarding trip on July 24th near their Martha’s Vineyard summer retreat.

On Sunday, he went missing in the waters of Edgartown Great Pond on Martha's Vineyard. Mr Tafari Campbell had been visiting the Massachusetts island from his home in Virginia at the time of his death

45 year old Campbell, worked in the White House before staying on with the Obama family after the former US head of state left office in 2016.

In a statement following his death, the Obamas called Campbell a “warm, fun, extraordinarily kind person who made all of our lives a little brighter.”
