The Guinness World Record has said it will have to review evidence of Nigerian chef Hilda Baci's cooking, before officially confirming the broken record.

The organization, however, stated that it is aware of the record attempt made by Baci from May 11 to May 15, 2023, during her cook-a-thon, which took more than 90 hours.

"We're aware of this amazing record attempt, we need to review all the evidence first before officially confirming a record," GWR said in a tweet.

The 27-year-old runs a restaurant in Nigeria known as  'My Food by Hilda'

The chef broke the record on Monday, with fans from all over Nigeria cheering her on, encouraging her to reach her potential.

Several Nigerian celebrities among them singer Tiwa Savage, Spyro, and Banky W were at the venue, showing their support.

Hilda was not allowed to take coffee, stimulants, or any energy drink to artificially boost her energy and bodily strength while cooking.

She cooked round the clock, with no sleep (morning, afternoon, evening, and night), and in some instances, would rest for 30 minutes.

During her 'breaks', the chef's team checked her blood pressure, temperature, cooled her off, and gave her foot rubs.

In videos that have circulated online, while on 'breaks', Baci was seen laying down in a designated van, and quickly taken back to resume her cooking.

The food made during the exercise where distributed to the attendees, free of charge.

The previous record was held by chef Lata Tandon from India who cooked for 87hr 45min in September 2019.

A Kenyan lady Maliha Mohammed 2019 also set a record for cooking at the Bay Beach Hotel in Mombasa and spent 75hrs and 3 minutes cooking.
