Margaret Kiiru, wife to Titus Maina the man who drowned alongside a female friend has spoken out.

Maina and his companion died after the car they were in plunged into a dam at the Titanic area in Juja, Kiambu county.

Margaret now says the female who died alongside her husband might just be a friend, adding that the nature of her husband's job allowed him to have many friends.

On a fateful day, she claims that her husband left home for work in the morning, and later called at around 7 pm on Monday, saying he was in a business meeting in Juja.

It was the last time she spoke to him.

“My husband left home for work on Monday morning, and we spoke in the evening around 7 pm. He said he was in Juja for a business meeting, I asked what he would want for dinner and that was the last time we spoke,” she said.

According to Kiiru, after their last conversation, Maina's phone went off and none of her messages were replied to.

“I called and sent him messages but he was unreachable, very unusual of him because he has always been accessible."

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Kiiru said all efforts to contact her husband remained futile until she was called by a friend informing her of Maina's death

According to Kiiru, it was not until Tuesday at around 2 pm that she was called by a friend and told to report to Kimbo police station where she learnt about her husband’s demise.
