Prof. Adolf Mkenda, the Minister of Education, Science and Technology of Tanzania, has said that information that has come from some media about schools where children have been taught sexual acts has shocked them.

He said that right now they are reviewing the mentioned schools and trying to find the truth about the matter.

"We have taken it very seriously, we are very shocked by the information. We have sent the Commissioner of Education, the Director of Quality Control, and the lawyer of the ministry to go quickly.

We have spoken to the Regional Commissioner to ask him to help the team that went there together and help us so that the police take action immediately."

Mr. Mkenda has said that because the issue has occurred in one area, there may be information in other areas, so the Secretary General of the Ministry will announce a number that will enable people to provide information to anyone who has any information about such incidents in other Tanzanian schools.

"We are increasing the attention to monitor these things because we know they can tarnish the image of education, they are damaging our youth, they will cause parents to lose faith in the school, we will continue to investigate and control the matter," said the professor.
