Cosmetic surgery has taken Kenya by storm in 2022. A notable list of famous Kenyans has volunteered that they took up some form of surgery to lose weight.

The most famous has been the gastric balloon done at a cost of almost sh500k.

Here is our list of celebrities who have gone through it

1. Official Kinuthia

Crossdresser Kinuthia has told of shedding massive weight with the help of a gastric bypass balloon.

2. Kate Actress

Kate Actress swallowed a gastric balloon to help her lose weight for a role.

She however got rid of it after saying she was losing weight very drastically, something she was not OK with.

3. Jackie Matubia

Actress Jackie Matubia opened up about how her weight loss journey has affected her relationship with her baby daddy.

Speaking about the process, Jackie added that after the procedure one gets sick for roughly 3 days.

Talking about having the gastric procedure Jackie revealed, "You'll get a similar feeling to being pregnant. You'll puke, feel nauseated, don't want strong scents, and get cramps and all.

During the 3 days, you'll be strictly on water. Even if you're taking apple juice you mix it up with water."

The mother of two added that on the second day of her procedure her ulcers started acting up and it was hell for her.

4. Willis Raburu

The TV personality shared his progress 7 months after undergoing gastric bypass surgery that cost him a whooping Sh900, 000.

In a video shared on his YouTube Channel a few weeks ago, the Citizen TV reporter disclosed that he had lost 30Kgs so far.

"I started at 164Kgs and last week when I checked I was 134Kgs. That’s 30Kgs down and I haven’t even started going to the Gym yet so watch out," he said.

Raburu revealed that he was forced to undergo Gastric bypass weight loss surgery for the sake of his health.

"I went for gastric bypass surgery. I respect people who persistently go to the gym. The gym is a lot of work. I had a good trainer but I would lose weight but I would regain that weight again very quickly."
