The WhatsApp application is down affecting millions of users. Users are unable to send or receive texts and make voice and video calls.

The app would allow people to type messages to friends and then press send. But after you send the messages become stuck, never actually delivering.

The popular instant communication app owned by Meta is reportedly facing an issue. 

The outage was being experienced in many parts across the globe and outage tracking website DownDetector recorded a spike in the number of problems recorded at 10AM.

The chart shows a view of problem reports submitted in the past 24 hours compared to the typical volume of reports by time of day.

It is common for some problems to be reported throughout the day. Downdetector only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.

Meta is yet to give a statement on the outage.

People took to Twitter to make fun of the situation as others thought their internet had a problem.
