Popular blogger and influencer Frank Obegi is set to be laid to rest on Tuesday at his rural home in Bogwendo village.

Obegi was among the four mutilated bodies discovered in Kijabe Forest on Monday, June 20, 2022.

Obegi who was was born on 06/09/1996 , was the second born child to to Evans Mose (Bowendo) and Beatrice Nyanchama. He was a brother to Leytone Teya and Gilger Nyang'ate. 

Kenyans on Twitter who knew Obegi or interacted with him mourned the young man, with every different person touching on how they knew him and the memories they shared.

His close family members remember him as a happy-go-lucky guy with a sterling attitude to life.

While speaking to the press, Obegi's brother Leytone Teya described him as a 'famous influencer and a blogger and an online social media active user.'

He called on Kenyans to focus on the positive side of Obegi and shun away from shaming him. He said his brother led a simple life contrary to allegations that he led a lavish lifestyle. 

He has been sharing links to stories detailing what happened to his brother on his Facebook page.

Paying tribute to him, One of Obegi's in laws remembered him as a 'sweet shemeji' who used to solve her problems.

Velma Liz, mourned Obegi's loss saying, "So painful to lose my lovely in-law. Who is gonna be solving my problems, pesa ya kuku nitapewa na nani? Endugu...why? Not at peace, papa why? My only sweat shemeji l have. Why?????"   

Nine days before his death, Obegi consoled one of his relatives who had lost his mother.

Victor Nyaata took to his social media to narrate the last time he spoke with Obegi via the social texting forum, WhatApp.

"When my mum passed on, Frank Obegi called me. 'Maze Nyaata naskia mum alipass, pole sana. Nakam hii wiki nikae na nyinyi'." Victor wrote.

Obegi started his education at Lutheran Academy in the year 2001 and Later joined Dorcas Sigara memorial academy where he sat his KCPE exam in the year 2009.

Later he joined Cardinal Otunga High school in 2010 to 2014 where he did her KCSE exam. He enrolled at Multimedia University for a degree in ICT where he was yet to graduate.

According to his family, the late Obegi enjoyed good health throughout his life until 20th June 2022 when he was found dead at Kijabe forest.

The body was confirmed at Nairobi city mortuary and later transferred to Kinara hospital (Bwomboga Hospital).
