Former Mwamba RFC player, Mike Oguga, has passed on. The skilled player died on Madaraka Day with little being known about the manner of his death.

Many of his friends and colleagues mourned him. Some of the messages are below;

lawinskylaurine: Moment of solace and condolences.

thuram_geff43: Now gonesafiri salama.

stessyclaif:  Rest in eternal peace.

chriss.sambu: 1st June 2022 my bro you’ve gone and gone forever

The interesting thing about Mike's passing is that he had posted a message on December 27th, 2016 that was sort of a foretelling of his death.

Although the message was posted over 5 years before his passing it reads like a premonition by the late athlete.

In the poem, Mike starts out by asking people who know him not to cry when they find out he has passed on.

“When tomorrow starts without me and I’m not here to see If the sun should rise and find your eyes All filled with tears for me I wish you wouldn’t cry.”

He added that when it was his time to go it was because an angel had said his place was ready.

“The way you did today while thinking of the many things We did not get to say When tomorrow starts without me Please try to understand That an angel came and called my name And took me by the hand The angel said my place was ready in heaven far above And that I would have to leave behind – All those I dearly love.”

The poem goes on to describe the sense of joy and wonder that Mike has in God's heavenly presence. Mike then describes the beautiful promises that God gives him.

“But when I walked through Heaven’s gates I felt so much at home When God looked down and smiled at me From His golden throne. He said this is Eternity And all I promised you Today for life on earth is done But here it starts anew I promise no tomorrow For today will always last And since each day the exact same way There is no longing for the past."

Mike then assures people at the end of the poem that even if he is gone that he is still in their hearts.

"So when tomorrow starts without me. Do not think we’re apart For every time you think of me Remember I’m right here in your heart.”

May his soul rest in peace.
