• Here is a breakdown of the 2022/2023 academic calendar that will help both the students and parents plan.

Parents and students are in for a marathon as the April holidays conclude.

It is important for both parents and students to note that, after the marathon academic year, 2023, the next academic calendar will normalize.

Parents with children in the current class seven should be aware that by Jan 2023 (next year) their children will be in Form One.

Parents with children in Grade Five should be aware that by January 2023 their children will be in Junior Secondary School.

This will be another year with very short breaks for holidays apart from this April long holiday.

Here is a breakdown of the 2022/2023 academic calendar that will help both the students and parents plan.

1. Term One of 2022

This term starts on April 25 to July 1, 2022 There will be a midterm that will be announced by the ministry of education.

This term has 10 weeks. And what is special about it is that all the pupils will transit to the next class, level or grade.

Term Two of 2022

This term starts from July 11 to September 16, 2022. The total number of weeks students will be in school are 10 weeks.

During term 2, there will be a midterm for one week from August 6 to 13 to enable the General Elections to be conducted on August 9.

Term Three of 2022

This term starts from September 26 to November 25, 2022. The term will be shorter at 9 weeks. It will not have a midterm.

Examinations

The current grade seven students will sit for KCPE from November 28 to December 1, 2022
The current Form 3 students will sit for their KCSE from December 1 to December 23, 2022
The current grade five students will sit for CBC National Assessment the Kenya Certificate of Basic Education (KCBE).
