A group of men also visited the home of Mzee Jackson Kibor who is celebrated as the patron of the so-called Men's Conference.

For the longest time, Kenyan men have opted out of Valentine's day festivities.

To celebrate the day, they instead made the decision to attend the Men's Conference and spend time with other men instead.

Most of the time, the 'headlining act' or go-to icon for the day is none other than Mzee Kibor.

Veteran politician Jackson Kibor found love after parting ways with his 67-year-old wife.

Even before the ink on the divorce papers could dry up, the 87-year-old walked down the aisle with a 40-something-year-old woman identified as Yunita in a colourful ceremony attended by family members and friends.

Since then, the two couple has been visiting various sites around Eldoret as they celebrate their union.

Kibor was a powerful politician during the Moi era.

Meanwhile, Cancer patients at the Eldoret Oncology Center had an opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day after they were visited by a group of women from charity groups.

The women led by Grace Aguda said they had decided to use the day to show love to the patients and encourage them as they battle with cancer.

The women carried out free make-up sessions for the patients and dressed them with wigs amid prayer and songs of encouragement.

Aguda saud the initiative was also aimed at giving moral support to the patients undergoing moral support.
