This is the cute moment a woman proposed to her partner by faking an injury on the softball pitch.

Sara Riou and Jacinta Comande have been dating for two years and wanted to make their proposal one to remember.

With the help of friends and loved ones, Sara popped the question right in the middle of a league match at Mirrabooka softball complex in Perth, Western Australia.

Then, around halfway through the match, Sara fell to the ground, pretending to be injured, prompting Jacinta to run on the field.

The video shows Sara getting up on one knee, and asking Jacinta to marry her.

The players and the crowd then burst into applause as the couple share a hug.

Jacinta, from Perth, Western Australia, said: "Sara had told me it was this huge game and that she'd invited all our friends and family down to watch.

"I didn't suspect a thing, and when she went down injured I was obviously really worried about her.

"I ran over and that's when she proposed - I was so surprised and it was such a special moment.

"It was really strange because after it happened they carried on and finished the match, and I walked back to the stands as an engaged woman.

"She really pulled it out of the bag and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her."

The video was filmed on December 2.
