Ken Wanzala Okinda, a religious education advisor at the Catholic Diocese of Kitui was among those who perished in the Mwingi Bus accident.

The bus was going to the wedding of one of their choir members. A lady identified as Cecil Steve has taken to her socials to mourn the death of Ken who was fondly known as Bro Ken.

"I'm yet to come to terms with your demise. I can't understand how you met your tragic death in River Enziu. In you, I found a friend, comforter, mentor, and encourager. You handled things with one heart brother Ken.

Your vocational training was perfect, you really served the people of Mwingi. As one of your members I feel I have lost a strong man of God but let me not blame His decision. Your father amekupumzisha,"

Cecil added that she won't forget all the encouragement she would receive from Ken.

"You travelled all the way far from home to serve your Lord in Kambaland. You used to tell us to be doing good and serve Him because we don't know the hour. How can I forget your encouraging words?

He has called you while serving Him. May your soul rest in eternal peace brother, hoping we shall meet on that beautiful shore," she penned.

24 people perished and so far, 12 have been rescued.
