"This thing hurts badly, especially at night!" Ailing Akothee narrates

Akothee has been in the hospital battling with a pinched nerve in her neck. The mother of 5 recently updated her fans on how her recuperation was going on her Instagram page.

Yesterday night the singer updated her fans and followers writing;

"Please take care of your postures 🤔🤔My yesternight was a long one. I told you I have a pinched nerve on my neck that's what affected my Arm, so I have sessions of physiotherapy to try correct it! This thing hurts badly, especially at night, I can't find the correct position to place my neck! My neck feels overburdened, tired and burning like fire 🙏 good night."

Her update comes a few days after the singer and businesswoman had revealed the illness that had been keeping her in the hospital for over a week.

According to clevelandclinic.org, a pinched nerve is a compressed nerve. Surrounding tissues that press on nerve roots can cause pain, numbness, and tingling in different areas of your body.

In many cases, the cause is a herniated disk slipping out between vertebrae in the spinal cord and pressing on the spinal nerve that goes down the leg.

Most pinched nerves originate in the neck (cervical radiculopathy), upper-middle back (thoracic radiculopathy) or lower back (lumbar radiculopathy).

The treatment is normally rest and pain medications.
