Braids

Hair braiding is at least 5000 years old, if not older. In Africa, the style can be traced back as far as 3500 BCE.

Braiding can be done with both plain hair or with the help of synthetic hairs that have been manufactured by different hair manufacturing companies in Kenya.

Many prefer having them either in short or long length. These days companies are even producing extra long synthetic hairs.

The fun part about synthetic hair is that it can come in many different colors.

Braids are plaited in different sizes like either small, medium or large. Large ones are famously known by their Swahili name Makeba.

So many ladies including celebrities still embrace this hair style which has managed to stay in the market for ages.

Gel and ponytail extension

This is a hairstyle where the natural hair is laidd sleek into either a high or low ponytail with the help of a styling gel and a synthetic hair extension is attached to the end of the ponytail.

Back in the day, extensions were already made and one just had to buy but these days people especially young girls have mastered the art of making their own homemade extensions with the help of synthetic hairs.

Afro

The hairstyle started trending at the end of the 1950s.

It was first worn by young black female dancers and jazz singers.

The hairstyle they wore had no name and when noticed by the black press, was commonly referred to as wearing hair "close-cropped."This hairstyle is common both with the male and female gender.
