One student remains in critical condition following last evening’s fire incident at Buruburu Girls, Nairobi.
The school and police say the student inhaled smoke and jumped out of the second floor of their dormitory as the students escaped from the fire.
At least 59 students were taken to hospital following the incident that broke out at about 5 pm.
30 of them were treated and discharged in the night.
Officials say they are concerned with the trend of fire incidents in the country. Last evening a similar fire incident was reported in Chavakali High School in Vihiga.
More than ten schools have been affected by fire in the past week alone in a worrying trend.
