Chiki Kuruka, wife to Ben of Sauti Sol has spoken about the Ndichu twin's saga saying it has changed people's lives forever.

The fitness trainer says it's sad that the woman involved will never be able to walk around freely without watching her back.

Chiki says the biggest problem we have  is how society has normalized gender-based violence.

Her sentiments come just days after she came back from London where she had gone to visit her family.

"I was so excited to come back to Kenya. But landing and reading the horrific, unacceptable stories of GBV at the hands of the Ndichu twins was SUCH a slap in the face.

I look at my loving family and think 2 things.

1) A mother, father, family, will now be forever changed. Those young women won't walk freely in space anymore without looking behind their backs in a way that they didn't before.

2) The moment this can be done brazenly in public, what has been done in private? I look at my family and my heartaches.

"This would break my uncles, whose instincts would be physical anger. This would break my mum, who wouldn't want to let me go.

But MOST importantly, to the survivors. I am so sorry. I stand loudly and Proudly with you. GBV NEEDS to end!

It's been normalised to a level that, when we speak about it there remains a percentage of people who think (it wasn't THAT bad). It WAS. It needs to stop."

Do you agree with Chiki that we have normalized violence?
