A woman died Tuesday evening at the National Oil petrol station in Mtito Andei, Kibwezi Sub county, while in a bus she was travelling in from Mombasa to Nairobi.
The body of the woman identified as Irene Nyambura was found lying on the seat of Dreamline Bus registration number KCG 170Y driven by Said Salim who had made a stopover at at the petrol station at around 6pm.
“All passengers were isolated within the petrol station and the bus as well as the body escorted to Kibwezi Sub county hospital where fumigation was carried out,” said Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan who confirmed the incident Wednesday.
Naipeyan said the cause of the death will be established after an autopsy is carried out on the body of the deceased, that is being preserved at the Makindu Hospital mortuary.
